PEORIA, Ill. – Portions of I-474 at the Airport Road interchange will close overnight for three consecutive nights beginning Oct. 21.
The closures will occur as follows, with detours posted:
Oct. 21: Eastbound I-474 will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 5 a.m. the
next day.
Oct. 22: Eastbound I-474 will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 5:30 a.m. the
next day.
Oct. 23: Westbound I-474 will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 5:30 a.m. the
next day.
The I-474 on-ramp from Airport Road close at 9 p.m.; the off-ramp will remain open.
The closures are necessary for installation of steel beams on the new Airport Road bridge over I-474.
Beginning Monday, in Washington, resurfacing and other improvements begin on Washington Road/Peoria Street (Illinois 8/Business U.S. 24) between Legion Road and Zinser Place.
The project will reduce the road to one lane in each direction, with resurfacing expected to be complete by the end of November and sidewalk and traffic signal upgrades finished in the spring.
