PEORIA, Ill. – One person has been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting on Monday in Peoria that injured a man.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 18-year-old Daemion Moore is charged with Aggravated Battery.
Peoria Police responded to Wiswall near Lincoln at around 11:00 A.M. Monday after 14 rounds were fired, finding an adult man with a gunshot wound to the foot.
The victim told police that he was shot at by two males in a gray vehicle that drove down the street while waiting outside his house for a friend to arrive.
Prosecutors say cameras and license plate readers allegedly identified Moore in possession of the suspected vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Shell casings found inside the vehicle also reportedly matched casings recovered from the shooting.
The shooting is still under investigation.
It was one of three shooting incidents Monday in Peoria. One occurred in the area of Griswold and Seibold, which left three people injured. The other happened in the afternoon in the area of Richmond and Bigelow, where a victim was reportedly shot while walking.
