Strong to severe storms are a possibility for the Peoria metro area Friday evening.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins explains that scattered showers and storms can be expected throughout the day Friday, but the best chance for severe weather will be Friday evening, when a strong cold front moves into the area.
Damaging winds and large hail are the primary concerns, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Heavy rain is also a good possibility.
A line of storms will be west of the Illinois River between 7 and 8 p.m., moving into the Peoria area by 8-9 p.m., and near Interstate 55, including Bloomington-Normal between 9-10 p.m.
