MACKINAW Ill. – A man from rural Mackinaw has been identified as a victim of a fatal fire from Monday.
Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley says 43-year-old Nathan Robertson was found unresponsive slightly before 6:45pm, when first responders arrived to the shed fire on Hill Road — just north of Mackinaw.
He was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. on Monday.
Preliminary autopsy findings show his cause of death was from smoke and soot inhalation due to the fire.
The fire is being investigated by the Tazewell County Sheriff‘s Office, State Fire Marshal, Illinois State Police and coroner’s office.
