EAST PEORIA Ill. – A local college is going out of it’s way to help it’s students have their voices be heard, in next week’s election.
Illinois Central College officials tell us they’ve been assisting their students in getting registered ahead of election day, next Tuesday.
The college’s Student Life Manager on the East Peoria Campus, Devon Blumenshine, explains…
“We have the ability to help students figure out if they are already registered to vote, where they are registered to vote, if they are living off-campus or living on-campus, how they can register to vote,” Blumenshine said.
She adds, ICC students will have the day off of class next Tuesday — to cast their vote in the 2024 Presidential Election.
“Allocating them the amount of time that they need to be able to get to a voting location or going to mail their ballot, having questions, it kind of gives them that entire day, instead of just giving them the ability to skip one class,” Blumenshine said.
Students will questions are encouraged to contact the college’s Student Life officials.
