PEORIA, Ill. – An employee of Limestone Community High School has been charged after he allegedly had sexual contact with a minor.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 37-year-old Ronnie Baskin was charged Sunday with Criminal Sexual Assault for reportedly having sexual contact with a 17-year-old female.
He was ordered on Tuesday to remain in custody until his trial at a detention hearing.
Prosecutors say Bartonville Police were made aware Friday morning of sexually explicit text messages between Baskin and a student at the school.
Baskin allegedly told police he admitted knowing the girl was 17 years old, sending the text messages, and having sexual contact with the victim.
Baskin is a non-teaching employee at Limestone.
The state’s attorney’s office says more charges could come when the case moves to a grand jury.
