TIPTON COUNTY, Tenn. – A Peoria man has been arrested in Tennessee after an alleged family dispute.
Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley says deputies responded to a rural home on Charleston Gift Road in Covington late Saturday evening on an assault call.
The victim reportedly told deputies they were assaulted by 36-year-old Lucius Mason of Covington and 24-year-old Terrence Mason of Peoria.
The victim had left the home to avoid further violence, but the pair allegedly followed them to another location and shot at the victim multiple times.
Terrence Mason was taken into custody after reportedly being uncooperative while talking to deputies.
Lucius reportedly returned to the home on Charleston Gift Sunday night and attempted to shoot the victim again. The victim returned fire and fled to safety. Lucius was found by Fayette County sheriff’s deputies and taken into custody. He allegedly attacked a correctional officer while in jail.
Sheriff’s deputies say the incident reportedly stemmed from an argument between the victim and his girlfriend, who is related to the Masons.
Terrence Mason is charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $250,000 bond. Lucius Mason is also charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, as well as Attempted First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault on a law enforcement officer. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Both are due back in court on December 10th.
