PEORIA Ill. – Several people have been arrested — including three juveniles — after Peoria Police say they allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of items, on Black Friday.
P-P-D tells us three adults were arrested Saturday for contributing to the delinquency of minors following thefts on Black Friday at Walmart stores in Normal and Allen Road in Peoria.
Three of the suspects identified by Walmart’s loss prevention staff were known to investigators as suspects for shoplifting at other stores.
The arrests happened after Peoria Police Task Force officers conducted covert surveillance on the suspects’ vehicle.
Officers said they stopped the vehicle in the 800 block of Abingdon at Glen Oak Park in the East Bluff and could see stolen merchandise in “plain view” inside the vehicle.
Police said they recovered about $4,000 worth of stolen items from “multiple” retailers.
The adult suspects are 22-year-old Kemonie Bailey, 34-year-old Taneisha Mack, and 26-year-old Martavious Laster.
Bailey faces seven counts of retail theft, theft, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while Mack faces four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, retail theft, theft and criminal damage to property.
Laster faces similar charges and was also wanted on two Tazewell County warrants, according to Peoria Police.
The juveniles identities have not been released.
