According to 25-News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins, Peoria was 13-inches ahead for the year.
“It’s safe to say the late summer drought is over”, according to Collins.
As of Wednesday evening, a Flood Warning along the Illinois River continued at Peoria as the river at Peoria was at 20.5 ft.
Expect the river to crest about 2 and a half feet above flood stage and continue to slowly fall over the Oct. 5 weekend.
