PEORIA Ill. -A man has been arrested in Peoria for having a stolen handgun and selling illegal drugs.
According to Peoria Police, Wednesday, SWAT was conducting an investigation into the illegal sale of drugs at a residence in the 5000 block of North Sheridan.
During their investigation, officers noticed 29-year-old Artiond Ivy exit the residence, enter a vehicle, and drive away.
The vehicle came to a stop in the 3300 block of North University — where a traffic stop was conducted.
Ivy attempted to flee but was taken into custody.
A search of his person and household revealed illegal drugs, drug packaging, drug equipment, currency, and a handgun that was reported stolen.
Ivy has been taken to the Peoria County Jail on numerous drug and weapons charges.
