PEORIA, Ill. — The Salvation Army prepares for the holiday season.
The Corps announced Thursday that two brothers will lead this year’s annual Tree of Lights campaign.
Wayne and Ken Baum have both been involved with the Salvation Army for many years.
Wayne Baum is the Chairman of the Board at CORE Construction. He has served on the Eureka College and Bradley University Board of Trustees and for Easterseals and the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund.
Kenny Baum is an Emeritus Advisory Board member for the Salvation Army and is retired from a 48 year career at Otto Baum, the company their father started. He has served in charitable causes including the Peoria Historical Society, Family House and the Apostolic Christian Church.
“This is the first time we have had brothers lead this campaign and we know that Wayne and Kenny have a heart for helping others,” said Major Jesse Collins, Tri-County Commander for the Salvation Army.
In 2018, the Salvation Army raised over $1.7 million. The Tree of Lights Campaign officially kicks off on Nov. 13, where this year’s need amount will be shared.
The Red Kettles will also start appearing to usher in the holidays on Nov. 13.
