PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police responded to reports of trouble with a male on N. Sterling Avenue late Monday morning.
When police arrived around 11:15 a.m., they found a man identified as 44-year-old Nicholas Boyd.
Peoria Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says as officers approached Boyd, he began yelling obscenities at them. Boyd then punched an officer and ran off. The officer sustained minor injuries.
After a brief chase, Boyd was arrested for aggravated battery, aggravated assault, resisting police, and for an active warrant. He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
