Election season is back in Peoria…
According to the executive director of Peoria County’s Election Commission, Elizabeth Gannon, early voting began Thursday for the 2025 Consolidated Primary.
Gannon says it’s only applicable for a certain group of residents.
“It is important to note that this is not a county-wide primary. Only registered voters that live in Peoria city limits are qualified to vote in this race,” Gannon said.
Voting can be done inside the election commission office.
Peoria County election commission executive Director, Elizabeth Gannon, says the primary results will determine which two candidates move to the General Election, on April 1st.
“There is a race for mayor, there is a race for city treasurer, and then there is also a race in the City Council District 2 Race. There are three candidates for each of those contacts and we are narrowing it down to two that will move on to the general election,” Gannon said.
The Consolidated Primary Election is on February 25th.
