PEORIA Ill. – An adult and a juvenile male have been charged with multiple weapons offenses – after being caught with firearms in downtown Peoria, on Tuesday.
According to the Peoria County State’s Attorneys office, 21-year-old Zarion Harris, and a 17-year-old male were charged, Friday, for having a fully-automatic weapon on their persons and attempting to elude police.
At around 3:00pm on Tuesday, officers tried to investigate a group of males in the 800 block of Northeast Jefferson.
When officers approached, the group split up and fled in different directions.
Harris fled inside a nearby store, where he was taken into custody.
The minor was found hiding behind a garbage can at a house in the 400 block of Morgan.
A gun was recovered on the ground where the minor was hiding.
Both men WILL stay in jail until their respective trials, the minor will be tried as an adult.
