TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the man killed in a crash in Tazewell County Friday night.
Harwood says 22-year-old Deontay Page, of Peoria, died at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center following the crash.
A 9-1-1 call was received just before 7 p.m. Friday about a two-vehicle crash with someone trapped inside one of the vehicles, near the intersection of Edgewater Drive and Bartruff Lane, northeast of Pekin.
Page was unresponsive, was not breathing, and had no pulse when he was taken to the hospital. He suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries in the crash, and likely died within minutes of the crash, Harwood says.
Page was pronounced dead less than an hour after officers arrived.
Toxicology tests are pending. The condition of the other driver was not available.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
