LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ill. – A Peoria Heights man is free from jail before his trial in Livingston County for allegedly soliciting a child for sex.
25 News reports that 65-year-old Richard Abel was arrested January 31st in Forrest, where he allegedly tried to meet up with a minor younger than 15 for sex.
Court records indicate the Livingston County State’s Attorney’s Office withdrew a petition to keep Abel jailed until trial.
He’s next due in court on February 19th for a preliminary hearing.
Abel is charged with Indecent Solicitation of a Child and Traveling to Meet a Child, both Class 3 felonies with maximum five year prison sentences, if found guilty.
