PEORIA, Ill. – Police have identified the man who barricaded himself inside a Peoria home Thursday afternoon as 30-year-old Joshua Cole.
Peoria Police were called to the 2000 block of W. Howett Street around 12:15 p.m. on an aggravated domestic call, where a man reportedly pointed a gun at a woman.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says the woman was found safe on the same block, while Cole barricaded himself inside the home.
Officers on-scene were asking Cole to come out peacefully.
Nearly five hours after the standoff with police began, officers entered the home but did not find Cole. They did find two handguns inside the home.
The incident remains under investigation. Cole is wanted for aggravated assault.
