PEORIA Ill. – One man has been charged in connection to a shooting last week, in Peoria.
According to the Peoria County State’s Attorneys office, 28-year-old Michael Walder was charged Friday, with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Around 10pm on February 21st an officer was flagged down by the victim, who reported his vehicle was shot near the intersection of Prospect and Frye.
Officers used surveillance video to identify a suspect vehicle.
When interviewing the owner of that vehicle – she confirmed that she had given Walder a ride that night – and that he fired multiple shots outside of her passenger window at another car.
Walder was arrested on Thursday, and during questioning, he admitted to the shooting.
That State has filed a Petition to Detain Walder, which a judge will hear on Monday.
He will remain in custody until then.
