CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Two Peoria high school boys’ basketball teams each ended up two games short of a state title on Thursday.
Manual fell to Chicago Dyett in the IHSA Class 2A state semifinals, 54-50, at State Farm Center in Champaign.
The Rams were led by Bradley commit Dietrich Richardson with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Manual will play at around 11:15 A.M. Friday in the Class 2A 3rd place game against Chicago Christ the King.
Earlier in the day, Peoria Christian was defeated by Lanark Eastland, 55-35, in the Class 1A state semifinals.
Senior guard Malachi Persinger and senior forward Gavin Walder led Peoria Christian with 10 points each.
The Chargers will play for 3rd place in Class 1A at 9:30 A.M. Friday against Effingham Saint Anthony.
