PEORIA, Ill. – A significant threat of severe storms continues for all of Central Illinois through Wednesday evening.
25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins has designated a First Alert Weather Day for severe weather Wednesday afternoon.
“Scattered severe storms will move into the area after 2:00 this (Wednesday) afternoon. Some of these cells could produce a few tornadoes, along with damaging winds and large hail,” Collins says.
Cold air is expected to come in late Wednesday night, and we could see snow showers with minor accumulation on grassy surfaces.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Wind Advisory for all of the WMBD Radio listening area through 7 a.m. Thursday.

PEORIA, Ill. – A threat of more severe weather seems likely for Central Illinois on Wednesday afternoon.
25 News First Alert Meteorologist Balint Szalavari says we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon into the early evening.
“The best chance of severe storms will occur from noon through 6 p.m. All severe weather-related hazards, including a few stronger tornadoes, will be possible,” Szalavari says.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Wind Advisory beginning Wednesday morning at 8:00 through 7:00 a.m. Thursday. Up to an inch of snowfall is possible Wednesday night across Central Illinois.
