PEORIA, Ill. – A man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison for a South Peoria murder on Labor Day weekend nearly three years ago.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 26-year-old Domincue Linwood was sentenced to 85 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Wednesday. He must serve the entire sentence.
Linwood was found guilty in January for the death of 24-year-old Jamarion Lee on September 3rd, 2022.
Lee identified Linwood as the shooter as police tried to save his life.
At the sentencing hearing, prosecutors linked Linwood to several other crimes in Peoria, saying he was a dangerous criminal who deserves a life sentence.
