PEKIN, Ill. – A man was transported to a hospital after a crash on 2nd Street in Pekin Wednesday morning.
“A male driver hit another vehicle, and then the train which was stopped,” said Pekin Public Information Officer Billie Ingles.
Ingles said first responders were called to the scene around 7:15 a.m.
“A rod or pole from the train went into the cab of the truck and impaled the driver, and he was LifeFlighted to a local hospital,” Ingles said.
There is no information on the condition of the driver at this time.
The accident remains under investigation.
