PEORIA, Ill. โ A man accused of a shooting at a Peoria apartment complex that injured another man from the past weekend will remain in jail.
The Peoria County Stateโs Attorneyโs Office says 26-year-old Andrew Webster was ordered detained at a detention hearing on Monday.
Webster is charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. The shooting occurred just before 12:30 A.M. Saturday at the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex.
Prosecutors say police found the male victim with a gunshot wound to the side.
The victimโs girlfriend had told police they were in bed with her two children when they heard five gunshots outside the apartment, then the victim yelling that he was shot.
There were no other injuries, but two other apartments and three vehicles were struck by bullets.
Prosecutors say surveillance cameras identified Webster as a suspect. He was taken into custody a short time later, and allegedly confessed to the shooting. A gun was also reportedly recovered.
