PEKIN, Ill. — Tazewell Animal Improvement of Life Society, better known as TAILS, is the local Humane Society in Tazewell County.
Spokesperson Joe Greenwood explained to WMBD’s Greg and Dan what TAILS does.
“You see on Facebook all the time, these animals that have been grotesquely abused and things like that. Well, those rack up a lot of vet bills. This is part of a community that pays those vet bills and gets them adopted, Greenwood said.
TAILS is set to host PetFest 2019 on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Avanti’s Dome in Pekin.
Greenwood said it is the group’s biggest fundraiser of the year. And, if you are looking to adopt a pet, there will be plenty of them available at PetFest.
“They’ve got a reptile rescue, a bird rescue, cats and dogs. It’s gonna be like a zoo out there really,” Greenwood said.
PetFest 2019 will be held Sunday from noon-5, and will include raffles, games, vendors and bouncy houses for kids.
