South to southwest winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph this afternoon from I-72 north, and turn west to southwest later today. These strong winds combined with relative humidity levels lowering to 20 to 30 percent late this morning and afternoon, lowest from Peoria northward, will result in increased fire danger especially over areas that missed recent rains. Blowing dust could also occur in recently tilled fields, especially in areas where rainfall was sparse during the past week.
