PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police were called just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday to a business in the 600 block of W. Main Street for an altercation.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said the business owner tried to intervene in the fight.
“The business owner was struck multiple times in the face by the suspect, at which time, the business owner/victim used a small knife to defend himself, stabbing the suspect,” Dotson said.
Sometime before 10:30 p.m., officers located the suspect on Western Avenue.
“The suspect, who is a juvenile, was taken into custody. He suffered minor injuries,” Dotson said.
The business owner was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
