PEORIA, Ill. — The empty Bergner’s building at Sheridan Village, at Lake and Sheridan in Peoria, could be a pile of dust in the near future.
Ross Black, Community Development Director with the City of Peoria, said a permit has been issued for demolition.
The owner of the building has been given 12 months to demolish it.
Black said a time frame for demolition has not been submitted.
Bergner’s at Sheridan Village opened in 1957. The store closed last April.
