PEORIA, Ill. – Two more members of an alleged violent street gang have been indicted by a Peoria County grand jury.
17-year-old Amarii Smith-Holley and 18-year-old Kendal Patterson were both indicted under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, or RICO, on Tuesday.
Smith-Holley was also indicted for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Machine Gun, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Filing a False Police Report, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
Patterson was also indicted for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Both their cases were transferred to adult court last month.
Prosecutors allege the pair are involved with the gang known as the “Snakes.” In October last year, Peoria County prosecutors filed charges against ten members of the group for violent acts over a two year period that included murders and shootings.
