PEORIA, Ill. – Arson appears to be the cause of a fire in Peoria’s North Valley Tuesday night.
Fire Battalion Chief Rick Waldron said crews were called around 7:15 p.m. to Voris Street, near NE Glendale Avenue.
Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the front and sides of the main floor. They had to force their way into the home because it was boarded up.
Once inside, crews encountered heavy fire and smoke that was spreading to the second floor.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
The home was a total loss. Damage is estimated at $60,000.
