PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect who is allegedly behind a power washing scam in the county.
The office says Stanley Dais is believed to be driving in a newer model white Ford pickup truck.
Deputies say the scam involves quoting victims $175 for the power washing service, only to be told afterward the cost is $3,000.
The scam appears to target elderly individuals, recently in the Princeville and Limestone Township areas.
The office says Dais has a long history of similar scams across the country, and has multiple active warrants in other states for scamming elderly people out of thousands of dollars.
