SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Insurance says rates for ‘Get Covered Illinois’ insurance plans are the same or lower than last year.
The On-Exchange Marketplace offers 142 plans for those who do not otherwise have health insurance.
Illinois Department of Insurance Director Robert Muriel urged those needing coverage to visit www.getcovered.illinois.gov, then clicking on “Shop/Enroll.”
“There’s a tool on the Get Covered Illinois site that consumers can use to find someone in their area to help them through the process. Just click ‘make an appointment’ to find a counselor,” Muriel said.
Illinois’ open enrollment runs Nov. 1-Dec. 15.
“The number of plans varies in each county, but most counties will have more plans available than they did in 2019,” Muriel said.
