EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The East Peoria Police Department is ending its prescription drug disposal program.
The department made the announcement in a Facebook post Friday, saying it’s due to cuts in grant funding.
The cuts means there is no longer a way for the department to dispose of the amount of prescription drugs it has.
The collection box has been removed from in front of the police station, and East Peoria Police is asking people to not drop off medication outside the building or in the lobby.
