PEORIA, Ill. – A man accused in the death of his infant son has been indicted by a Peoria County grand jury.
41-year-old Dwayne Davis was indicted for First Degree Murder Tuesday in the death of seven-month-old Eland Davis. Dwayne is due back in court on July 31st.
Peoria Police were called to a South Peoria apartment on July 1st for an unresponsive infant, with Eland later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Dwayne claimed he was co-sleeping with Eland, and found Eland dead when he woke up.
But an autopsy revealed that Eland suffered “abusive head trauma” and that his injuries were not from co-sleeping.
