PEORIA, Ill. – A shooting on Monday night in Peoria’s East Bluff sent a 15-year-old girl to the hospital.
Peoria Police were called around 6:25 p.m. to E. Gift Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert indicated 16 rounds had been fired in the area. Officers did not find a victim at the scene.
Around 6:40 p.m., officers were sent to E. Corrington Avenue for a gunshot victim. There, they found a 15-year-old girl who suffered a graze wound to her upper back.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says the 15-year-old was hit by gunfire while sitting inside a parked vehicle on E. Gift.
The girl’s injuries were not serious.
Police have no suspects. The incident remains under investigation.
