PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Firefighters were called around 1:20 p.m. Thursday to a home in the 1300 block of N. North Street.
Heavy smoke and flames were showing from the home’s second floor.
Crews watered down a neighboring home due to the volume of the fire, which broke a window on the home’s second floor.
Firefighters knocked down the fire within 12 minutes of arrival.
A search of the home found no one inside. A cat was rescued by crews and released to Animal Control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
