PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man was ordered detained by a judge after he allegedly forced his way into his girlfriend’s apartment and pistol-whipped her.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 39-year-old Donald Criss was charged with Home Invasion and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
The incident occurred at around 3:00 A.M. Friday near Wayne and Glendale, where a female flagged down officers to get help for her friend.
The woman reportedly told police she was staying the night at the victim’s house, when Criss, allegedly armed with a handgun, reportedly forced his way in.
Police reportedly escorted the victim and her children out of the apartment, then ordered Criss out and took him into custody.
The victim reportedly told police Criss struck her multiple times and choked her, with officers noticing visible injuries to her face.

PEORIA, Ill. – A woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries after allegedly being pistol whipped during a home invasion early Friday morning in Peoria.
Peoria Police says officers were called just before 3:00 A.M. to the area of Wayne and Perry on reports of a male causing a disturbance.
A 36-year-old female victim told police they reportedly had engaged in an altercation with 39-year-old Donald Criss.
Criss then allegedly forced himself inside the residence and struck her in the head with a handgun.
Criss was found by police inside the residence and arrested on charges of Home Invasion, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Battery. He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
