PEORIA, Ill. – A former candidate for Peoria City Council has been arrested on a charge of domestic violence.
25 News reports it happened Thursday afternoon at Twin Towers Plaza downtown. Aaron Chess, 24, allegedly assaulted a woman in an apartment there.
Peoria Police say officers discovered cuts and swelling on the woman’s lips, and various electronics and other items strewn about a hallway floor.
Chess faces a charge of Domestic Battery and was released from jail after posting bond.
Denise Jackson defeated Chess and Denise Moore for a seat on the Council from District One last year
Chess will next be in court July 27th.
