PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Fire and Rescue responded to an apartment fire Saturday morning at 4:30 at 2707 W. Trewyn.
Upon arrival firefighters and paramedics found that the fire was isolated to a mattress and clothes.
The cause of the fire was reported to be a cigarette near the clothes and mattress.
The tenant and two small children were reported safe and transferred to OSF Medical Center for precautionary reasons.
There were no injuries reported among the firefighters.
