PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police have arrested two additional juveniles in connection with a December 6th crime spree that involved stolen vehicles, carjackings at gunpoint, and dangerous high-speed chases across the city.
On December 16, 2025, Peoria Police detectives, working with the Greater Peoria Auto Crimes Task Force (GPACT) and the United States Marshals Service, located a 16-year-old male suspect at a residence in the 1700 block of South Westmoreland Avenue.
During the investigation, detectives identified the teen as the suspect who carjacked a victim in the Hardee’s drive-thru during the December 6th incident. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Peoria Police Department for an interview.
While apprehending the carjacking suspect, officers also located a 17-year-old male at the same residence who was wanted by GPACT for a separate vehicle theft. He was also taken into custody without incident.
Members of GPACT executed a search warrant at the residence after the juveniles were taken into custody. During the search, officers seized evidence related to the hijacking as well as stolen identity property.
Charges Filed
- 16-year-old male: Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking (two counts), Aggravated Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and an active warrant
- 17-year-old male: Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and an active warrant
Both juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
