PEORIA, Ill. – The two finalists for the Peoria Public Schools superintendent job have connections to the school district.
PPS Board President Doctor Gregory Wilson confirmed the finalists are Dr. Renee Andrews and Dr. Jerry Bell. Both are looking to take over the role after current superintendent, Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat, retires at the end of the school year.
Andrews is currently the Assistant Principal and 504 Coordinator at Richwoods High School, where her duties include developing and monitoring students with disabilities.
Bell is currently Deputy Chief of Student Support for the Syracuse City School District in New York, but previously served as Academic Instructional Officer and Executive Director of Middle Schools for PPS.
Both Andrews and Bell will have their own meet and greet town halls next week on separate nights. The town halls are planned for January 6th and 7th.
