PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called Thursday afternoon to a garage fire in the area of W. Howett and S. Blaine.
Battalion Chief Josh Maroney said an “unattended illegal open burn” caused $5,000 damage.
When crews arrived just after 1:30 p.m., they found a small fire at the back of the garage.
The fire was put out quickly and was contained to the garage, not spreading to the home nearby.
Maroney wanted to remind Peoria residents of the Open Burn Ordinance within city limits, which can be found HERE.
