PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was arrested Sunday after allegedly stealing a vehicle in the area of Peoria’s East Bluff.
Peoria Police says officers responded just before 7:15 P.M. to the area of Melbourne and California.
Officers spotted the vehicle westbound on Nebraska near Wisconsin and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle reportedly fled at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was later spotted crashed in the intersection of Nebraska and Hampton, where three suspects reportedly fled.
A 16-year-old male was the only one of the three taken into custody after a brief foot chase, and arrested for Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle and Resisting a Peace Officer.
The teenager was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
