PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a double shooting in Peoria early Wednesday morning.
Coroner Jamie Harwood says 44-year-old Davelle Wilder was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, unresponsive, not breathing, and with no heartbeat.
Wilder was pronounced dead in the trauma room at 3:36 a.m. Harwood says he suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body and died instantly.
Peoria County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 3400 block of Harmon Highway just after 3 a.m. for a double shooting. A woman was also shot, suffering a wound to her leg.
The case remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
