PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria youth football team could use your help.
It’s been estimated the equipment shed for the Peoria Junior Football League’s Woodruff Warriors sustained just short of $10,000 worth of damage November 4th when a truck drove through it.
Woodruff JFL Director Vanessa Farraher outlined the damage.
“A good portion of half the [shed] was driven through,” she said.
“It took out two windows and two interior walls and a support beam holding up the roof.”
JFL’s insurance did cover the contents inside, it did not cover the damage to the exterior.
The driver of the truck was reportedly uninsured.
Thus, Farraher said, the league has arranged some fundraisers around Peoria.
“We do eat nights, where you go to a restaurant, and they donate a portion of their sales back to the JFL program,” she said.
Such eat nights have been arranged to take place Nov. 25 at the East Peoria Red Robin and Dec. 2 at the Peoria Portillo’s.
Additionally, a GoFundMe has been set up.
JFL’s players range in age from 5 to 14.
