HANNA CITY, Ill. – It’s official, well at least according to Wildlife Prairie Park’s Gertie the Groundhog.
We’ll have six more weeks of winter. Gertie saw her shadow just after 7 a.m. Monday on Groundhog Day in Hanna City.
Gertie has been predicting the arrival of spring for Central Illinois residents for over 30 years, often more accurately than Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania.
