PEORIA, Ill. – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday night in Peoria.
Nicholas Pannell, 35, was arrested Sunday night on first-degree murder and battery charges for the shooting death of 29-year-old Breanna Kelly.
Pannell was one of two men shot during the incident. He was located in a vehicle that fled the area at a high rate of speed immediately after the shooting.
Pannell was hospitalized, but remained in police custody until he was released. He was then transported to the Peoria County Jail.
Marco Brown, 35, was arrested Sunday for murder, two counts of aggravated battery, and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Hardwood said Kelly likely died instantly from a single gunshot wound to the midback. She was found dead inside a home in the 4000 block of W. Virden Street.
