PEORIA, Ill. – A member of the Peoria Richwoods girls’ basketball coaching staff has resigned after allegations of inappropriate conduct.
In a letter to players and their families, Athletic Director Jeffrey Crusen says Ronald Ruffin has stepped away, effective immediately, after concerns were raised on social media.
The letter states that Ruffin’s resignation does not stop an investigation into the matter.
In response to the allegations, the letter states the school is proceeding with all activities with broader coaching staff supervision, and the school is fully cooperating with law enforcement.
The letter continues to say that counseling is available for affected students or families.
