PEORIA, Ill. – Two leadership roles have changed at the Peoria Housing Authority…with one involving a criminal investigation.
The Board of Commissioners announced on Monday that its Chief Financial Officer was terminated, over the discovery of alleged financial irregularities involving PHA funding. The announcement states that the matter was referred to the Peoria Police Department.
The PHA did not provide additional information, but says it is fully cooperating with police.
On a separate matter, the authority also has an interim Chief Executive Officer, after Armeca Crawford’s resignation from the role. The board appointed Damon Duncan in the interim.
In the PHA’s statement, it describes Duncan as a long-time public housing executive, affordable housing developer, and consultant, with more than 30 years of experience in public housing.
The PHA says all housing programs will continue without interruption or disruptiuon, which includes its Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Program.
