PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County grand jury has indicted a woman accused of causing a multi-vehicle crash earlier this month that left a man paralyzed.
Court documents show that 28-year-old Ganala Johnson was indicted Tuesday on five counts of Aggravated DUI, a Class 4 felony. Johnson is due back in court for an arraignment hearing on March 17th.
Johnson is accused of traveling around 80 MPH before crashing into a truck at University and McClure on February 7th, then allegedly confessed to drinking after being taken to a hospital after the crash.
Prosecutors say the truck driver suffered a spinal cord injury and is paralyzed from the neck down.
An adult and three children were also injured in the crash.
