BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (25 News) – Dozens of people gathered Sunday near Bloomington’s Eastland Mall, while other demonstrators met near Bradley University in Peoria to express their opposition to the air war underway against Iran.
25 News reports about 50 people gathered along Veterans Parkway in Bloomington, joining critics worried about the human costs of war and that the U.S. is entering combat without congressional consent.
Among the organizers were members of the group Bloomington-Normal 50501.
“We like to see the end of the attacks, also like to see in the future congressional approval on things that are similar to attacks of war on other countries,” said Lily Linden, who’s on Bloomington-Normal 50501’s Leadership Council.
“We like to see these attacks halted period,” Linden said.
Protesters said the air war risks fueling a wider conflict.
